This brand-new production has been thoughtfully designed to fit a wide range of performance spaces, while embracing the nostalgic storytelling at the heart of Water for Elephants. The design aesthetic is influenced by the play’s central concept, a memory of a bygone circus world, recalled through the eyes of the older Jacob. Weathered textures, vintage details, and a sense of timeworn wonder all help evoke the feeling of a circus remembered rather than a circus seen in the present.

Our rental package features an array of handcrafted scenic elements, including four curved circus benches, refinished half-oak barrels, rustic wooden crates, and two sets of climbable, movable scaffolding that transform any space into a living memory of the big top.

Highlight elements include a whimsical menagerie of original animal head puppets, most notably Spirit the Horse and a full-size Rosie the Elephant, engineered for two puppeteers and guaranteed to bring the story’s emotional heart to life.
